Brake foot valve

One important part of a car brake system is a brake foot valve. It regulates how much air pressure is sent to the brakes so you are able to safely slow or stop your vehicle. The VIT air brake valve is located on the floor of the car, next to the driver. As you push down on the brake pedal with your foot, it depresses the brake foot valve. This, in turn, applies air pressure to the brakes. The brakes would operate under the influence of the air pressure coming from the brake foot valve, to reduce the speed of the car or stop completely, when required.

Essential components of a brake foot valve system

There are several brake foot valve system parts that work as one to ensure you and your passengers have a safe driving experience. All systems contain pedal, push rod, valve body, air supply hoses, brake chamber. The brake pedal is the component you press with your foot to activate the brakes. On the brake pedal, pressing down pulls a component called a pushrod. The VIT brake valve is another critical component in the system, and the pushrod moves it when the force is transmitted. What it does: Valve body controls the air pressure to the brake chambers. Air supply hoses are tubes that transfer the air pressure from the valve body to the brake chambers, which actually apply the brakes to stop the car.
